Enjoy an impressive and impressively stress-free Thanksgiving with this homemade cranberry sauce recipe.
Over Thanksgiving, you might be having friends and family over to your home with whom you feel completely comfortable. You may also be inviting an individual or two to your table who you feel the need to impress, though.
We want to help you amaze your guests while still enjoying the holiday stress-free, so we’ve hand-picked this foolproof but wow-worthy Thanksgiving recipe for homemade cranberry sauce. To make it, you’ll need:
- 1 pound of washed and dried fresh cranberries
- 1/3 cup of water
- 2 cups of granulated sugar
- 1 stick of cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon of nutmeg
- ½ teaspoon of ground allspice
- The zest and juice of 1 orange
In a medium stockpot, stir the cranberries with the sugar and water. Bring to a boil over medium heat, then reduce to a simmer and add the spices. Stir while simmering for about 5 minutes, or until some but not all of the cranberries have burst.
Add in the orange juice and zest and stir together. Let cool.
Transfer to a beautiful serving dish and offer this sauce with your Thanksgiving meal to impress your holiday guests!
